Marilyn was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Livermore Falls where she was baptized in 1937 and believed at her death to have been the longest tenured member of that church at eighty-six years. In the late 50’s she appeared on the syndicated TV program – The Price is Right where she was the champion one day earning many exciting gifts including trips to Mexico and Florida to expand her love of travel. ![]() With her sister, Priscilla, she toured North America and loved seeing the USA. She enjoyed contract bridge and held a national ranking for years. She was a founder of Spruce Mountain Ski Association in Jay and enjoyed nothing more than cruising Sugarloaf with its majestic views from the summit. The vivacious lady with the broad smile was a very active individual who played basketball in school followed by a lifetime of skiing and swimming. She later married Linwood Knight of Jay and they settled in South Portland where Sgt Knight was stationed with the US Army.Īlthough she worked in the banking industry for a brief time and waited tables, her primary employment was in retail sales employed for many years at Jordan Marsh at the mall in South Portland. where she studied medical secretary curriculum. Marilyn was reared in Livermore Falls where she graduated from Livermore Falls High School with the class of 1942 and then attended Becker Junior College in Worcester, Mass. She was born August 31, 1924, in Jay, the daughter of Norman G. Dashner, 98, formerly of Livermore Falls, passed peacefully from this life into eternity on April 16, 2023, from her home at Woodland Memory Care with her loving family in her presence.
